Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, I always plan to create a classroom community that feels completely safe to my students where they’re able to show their personalities fully and share who they are with others, also to be able to fully absorb information through that feeling of safety in the classroom.
The reason why I focus so much on safety when it comes to a classroom is because I know how learning can be hindered by fear of peers’ judgement and fear of authority figures, especially when those authority figures exploit their powers consistently in the classroom and practice that oppression on students. Learning in those situations becomes a mere second thought and the first focus becomes survival, which is something a student never has to focus on. My goal is to never make a student feel like that ever again and allow them to thrive in their own existence and in the classroom.
The upcoming photos will include some of my students work!
